Your daily briefing on the automotive world
Auto-Curated Live  ·  August 1, 2026

The Automotive Web, Distilled Daily.

136 editions published — 1347 stories curated

The Daily Hoon is a one-person media operation doing the work of a ten-person editorial team — automatically. Every day at 1:00 PM Eastern, the site pulls from 46 RSS feeds and 7 news APIs, processes a pool of 800–1,000 articles, and publishes the ten most important automotive stories of the day. No editor required.

The coverage spans the full automotive world: Formula 1, NASCAR, WRC, electric vehicles, classic cars, new model reveals, safety recalls, and car culture from Australia to the Arctic. Stories are scored for freshness, source credibility, social signal, and automotive relevance before selection.

The Daily Hoon does not write or produce original content. Every story links directly to the original publisher. We are a curation and discovery engine for automotive enthusiasts who want the day's most important car news in one place, every day, without the noise.

How It Works

📰
Fetch
46 RSS feeds and 7 APIs are queried simultaneously every day — around 900 articles enter the pipeline.
Filter
Duplicates are removed in three passes. Non-automotive content is discarded by keyword and category matching.
Score
Each article receives a composite score: source reputation, freshness, keyword density, and community signal.
Publish
The top 10 scoring stories are saved to the database and the edition goes live at 1:00 PM Eastern.

What We Cover

The Daily Hoon covers the full breadth of the automotive world through a structured tag taxonomy of over 64 topics — from Formula 1 and NASCAR to electric vehicles, classic car auctions, NHTSA safety recalls, and JDM culture. Every story is tagged on publication, making the archive searchable and filterable by brand, series, or theme.

The Hoon Vault is our curated video library — a growing repository of professional drivers in everyday cars, personality spotlights, and the best automotive driving content on YouTube, organised by driver, car type, and skill demonstrated.

Our Sources

Content is drawn from the most respected names in automotive journalism: Autosport, Car and Driver, Autocar, Jalopnik, The Drive, Electrek, Hagerty, Carscoops, The Autopian, Road & Track, Bring a Trailer, Petrolicious, and many more — alongside official sources including Formula 1, the FIA, and the NHTSA.

We do not pay for or receive payment from any source to influence story selection. No advertiser can purchase editorial placement. The ranking algorithm is purely performance-based.
